This live video feed from Synthetic Reality Co. is brought to you by the Warpath 97 tactical assault squad. A broadcast-quality Sony Handicam, with a 280mm zoom lens, is focussed (automatically) on the target. The NTSC composite video is fed into a Digital F/X cross band video sample and store module where it is resampled to a horizontal scan frequency compatible with your monitor. This data is then fed into a Silicon Graphics Iris workstation for gamma correction and reverse conjugate correction. That data travels across the Synthetic Reality Fibre Channel high bandwidth network to an array of Synthetic Reality Web Servers, which route it to your computer. Due to the high volume of data involved, routers between you and the Synthetic Reality Web Servers may actually have cached a series of these images, resulting in your seeing them somewhat delayed.
